Our Demonstration Centers

In addition to the 60 organizations represented in the Mayor's Coalition for Literacy, Houston Center for Literacy offers best literacy practices in three demonstration learning centers, located in areas of Houston where the need is greatest. Visit one of our demonstration centers to learn various aspects of running an adult literacy center, including: curriculum resources, data entry, center management, and much more.

These sites are funded exclusively by Texas Workforce Commission, with Houston-Galveston Area Council  serving as the fiscal and administrative agent. The locations are as follows:

In order to boost the economy of Houston, Houston Center for Literacy strengthens providers of adult education who, in turn, provide necessary skills for underemployed citizens to fulfill their potential and become economically self-sufficient.
