Literacy through sharing relevant, effective classroom
resources proven to help adult learners become more literate and
prepared for the workforce and the future.

Educational Resources

Mango
Languages is an interactive computer software
programs that teaches learners a foreign language at their own pace
and in a fun way. This program is available for free with a valid
Houston Public
Library card.

is a rich source of multimedia teaching materials that combine
streaming videos with related interactive web lessons on reading,
writing, math, science, and financial literacy.

Coastal Region GREAT
Center - The Coastal Region GREAT Center
provides training for, but not limited to, Adult Basic Education
(ABE), General Education Development (GED) English as Second
Language (ESL), literacy and basic skills, workforce literacy,
learning disabilities, cross-cultural communication, and all
statewide training needs as identified by Texas LEARNS.

Texas is the statewide literacy coalition for
Texas, connecting and equipping literacy programs through
resources, training, networking and advocacy.

Education Agency's mission is to provide
leadership, guidance and resources to help schools meet the
educational needs of all students.

LEARNS, under agreement with Texas Education
Agency and housed in the Harris County Department of
Education, provides nondiscretionary grant management functions,
program assistance and other statewide support services to Texas
Adult Education and Family Literacy Providers.

TCALL is a
Center of the College of Education and Human Development at Texas
A&M University, housed in the Department of Educational
Administration and Human Resource Development. It's mission is to
provide a centralized resource for collaborative networking,
knowledge, and service for those meeting the literacy needs of
adult learners and their families.
